On Friday, 8th December 2017 and in recognition of Human Rights Day, the World Health Organization showcased its QualityRights initiative at its Headquarters in Geneva.
New QualityRights film: see the impact QualityRights has had on people’s lives in Gujarat, India
· 15 QualityRights capacity building and guidance tools: a big thank you to everyone who has contributed to the materials so far. Final versions will be available mid-2018.
· QualityRights Assessment Toolkit: a reminder that this tool is available to take you, step-by-step, through the process of assessing mental health services in your country
· WHO Quality Rights launch event:
o On Friday, 8th December 2017 and in recognition of Human Rights Day, the World Health Organization showcased its QualityRights initiative at its Headquarters in Geneva. The event brought together representatives from the WHO, governments, UN agencies, civil society and academia to hear people’s personal experiences of mental health services and how respect for their human rights has been central to their recovery and how the WHO QualityRights initiative is transforming services and promoting rights on the ground.

In addition, a new Human Rights Council resolution on mental health and human rights (A/HRC/36/L.25), led by Portugal and Brazil, was adopted on 27 September 2017, highlighting the actions required to address human rights in mental health, including through the QualityRights initiative. A high level consultation requested as part of the resolution will take place no later than the 71st World Health Assembly in 2018.
